FORMULA1_4_FUN SEASON 3 / No more F1 2012 for me

Hey guys,

I'm not going to finish the season off. I no longer play F1 2012. My interest has been going for a while and I wasn't putting in much prac. I appreciate that the front runners tried F1 2012 performance as it got me practicing for the last couple of races I had and made the racing fun.

I've started playing iRacing and since the computer is in another room to the ps3 there is zero chance of me moving the wheel for this game. I also don't have the spare time to dedicate to multiple games.

I hope you guys can get more on the grid now you are on racedepartment.

Don't think I'll make it tonight, haven't signed up at racedepartment so posting here.

Q 6th: Could have gone a bit quicker but hadn't really practised quali laps.

R 5th: Got past livo at t1 then yeild to kart into eau rouge. Made a few little mistakes first couple of laps, the car felt like a boat on a few of the corners.

As I'm behind stricker I missed the braking into the chicane and tried to avoid the wall. But my wheels were locked and I went straight across the track again. On my screen stricker got past and I sighed with relief but then saw his dot on the map was there. Sorry Stricker, my only thought was miss the wall and after I'd accomplished that I was a passenger. In hindsight I should have gone left of the wall and turned around.

I finally start to get in a rythm and pass stricker who is clearly struggling with the wing damage. I then set to catching Kart, this goes down 1s here 3s there occasionally no change in time. Cam pits and comes out just in front, I use him to keep pace then pit for the hards. I came out about 10s from Kart. I eventually catch Cam who must have made a mistake and we battle for a while, we catch kart and battle. Me and cam get stuck into again and kart pulled a little a way but caught him on the last lap made the pass under DRS and held on until t14 when my left wheel gets stuck on the ripple strip and I go straight into the sand droping from 3rd to 5th  :'(

Q 4th: Needed a few laps to get it right.

R: Lost a few poistion on lap 1. Had Gazza and stricker pass me and going into the stadium section I was close behind, going towards the tight lefthander I was behind Stricker who I'm guessing braked earlier to leave the room for gazza but I wasn't expecting him to stop so hard that early that I went straight into him knocking him into gazza. Probably lost 20 seconds to let stricker past and another 15-20 waiting for gazza, +10s ingame penalty.

Race went on I re passed Gazza, caught kart cutting 2-3s off a lap. Then the safety car cam out and I was a couple of hundrfed meters from moss so stuck behind lapped. I pitted for options when we went around to come out behind gazza but was hoping to jumping him when he let cam through. I had a 20s lead on gazza so pit for another set of options but damaged my wing in the pit lane, came out right behind Gazza. I got past then hit the gravel on the final corner and spun into Gazzas path which broke his wing, as my wing was damaged I waited for gazza and pit at the same time knowing we'd both change wings and could continue our battle. We battled coming out of the hairpin Gazza had a slight lead and we crossed at the right kink then in the next braking zone came together.

Quali: Just couldn't get a good lap in.

Race: Started well but at the end of the DRS straight me and cam went two wide into the turn and I got bumped, which I think hurt both our races as cam waited for me. Took me a few laps to get my head back in the game which meant I was down 10s from Cam. I was lapping slightly faster than cam, stayed out on option suntil lap 11 then pit for a fresh set of options. At this point I was catching Kart at 2-3s a lap and would have caught him but got a penalty. I was slowly catching cam but made a few mistakes when the track got wet so was back to 10s once we pit for inters. I got a drive thru at the pit exit went around did my penalty but when I came out wets were needed so I pulled over and retired.

Looked at the fastest laps before I left I had the third fastest at the time, so I think with the Ferrari I'll be able to compete, I would say these cars seemed to even the field out. What do you guys think?

I can start up to an hour later than we do without any problems.

In both cases the Mclaren is significantly quicker than the redbull compared to the other gaps between each car. It also gives room to adjust further down the track.

I think mosses list is prossibly better.

Yeah, I think the ferrari might be a better option for me. I would say I run a similar pace to Kart as we often end up racing each other.

Q last: I really struggle at this track, even in a mclaren a mid 1.38 is my best. I found the lotus had little turn in and understeered in and out of corners. Has lots of grip though out of a corner.

R last: I got through the mess than had a little battle with drew which was cool with proper defense being used and working. After that drew started to pull away. I missed t1 and had to spin around losing two poistions, then I lot my wing with a puncture at t1 so was +40s from 2nd last when I exited the pits another incident ment over half the field had lapped me so I retired.

I didn't really like the lotus, propably needs a bit of tweaking to get the balance right, I was using 1/1 1/11 1/1 11/11 left camber right toe. Prac is another thing I'm lacking lately too, with daylight davings I'm playing alot more sport and exercise, might be quicker in the winter :P

As we'll be trying to iron out the correct cars for everyone. If we are going to change every race how about a system where if you finish above your expected position you move down one car (in terms of those performance ratings) and if you finish below your expected position you move up a performance.

Eg car order using virtual performance than tyre wear and engine power to split the equal ones the order is
Mclaren
Redbull
lotus
Merc
Ferrari
Sauber
Williams
Force India
Toro rosso

Expected finish order E.g.
1) Moss - Torro Rosso
2) Stubs- Force India
3) Livo - Williams
4) Stricker-Sauber
5) Kartdude-Ferrari
6) Andrew-Mercedes
7) SupaNash- Lotus
8) Angry - Lotus
9) Gazza-Redbull
10) Macca-Mclaren

So for example if I finished above 8th I would move to the merc next race but if I finished 9th or tenth I move to the Redbull.

We can always agree on a different order for the cars but this should also buffer for those one off bad and good races. Also makes it not worth tanking when in a bad spot.

Sorry haven't checked for a while.

I'm for trying 2012.
If we did 25%, I'd probably be up for running the same track twice. Maybe season two we could do two tracks but I haven't done all the tracks yet so might struggle to get practise in. Otherwise 50% should be closer if we run 2012 cars.

I know it's been a while sonce I raced but wont be there tomorrow as it's my wedding anniversary.

Rolled my ankle today, so unless I can learn to play with the controller tomorrow tomorrow, I won't be racing.
